Using Houdini for Cloth Simulation in a Movie Shot

Walkthrough: Using Houdini for Cloth Simulation in a Movie Shot (Trollbridge).
This is a the counterpart to my modo-walkthrough on a “real world movie cloth sim shot”, this time done in Houdini.
I am using an Alembic export to get animated geometry into Houdini, then select the cloth parts that are to be simulated, adjust parameters and create a MDD point cache for import to the render pipeline. I am also showing how to “pin” points from the cloth geometry to parts of the animated body, if the scene does not allow for friction-based (collision dependant) “keep up the skirt where it belongs” as in this specific shot.
