- Creating the Base Sphere Effect:
- You start by creating a Sphere Emitter with a material to generate the energy ball’s core. This is controlled by a dynamic material that adjusts various parameters (like color, size, etc.).
- The sphere’s appearance is enhanced by the addition of sharp black edges, achieved using a texture with noise and Vortex normals.
- The texture used for the sphere’s glow is carefully manipulated to create a glowing energy field, with the center being less intense and the edges glowing brighter.
- Animating the Energy Effect:
- The sphere’s glow is animated using sine waves to make the energy ball pulse up and down.
- You adjust the timing, speed, and intensity of the effect to make the sphere appear to grow and shrink or flicker.
- Adding Radial Glow and Sparks:
- A radial glow is created by using a radial material, with particles spawning around the sphere.
- You also create sparks that are emitted from the sphere using radial emitters, which have a glow effect at the edges. The sparks are made with specific parameters like color, size, and spawn rate.
- Creating Lightning:
- Lightning is created around the sphere using a custom noise texture, which distorts the lightning to create a random, flickering effect. This is achieved by multiplying the noise with a sine wave to give it a more natural look.
- The lightning is cut off from the center using a radial mass that adjusts the radius dynamically, affecting the visibility of the lightning.
- Creating Particle Trails:
- Particles are emitted from the sphere and follow a trail, made using an attraction force to pull them back towards the center. The trails fade out over time and are made thinner using the scale sprite size module.
- Custom Facing for Ripples:
- To create the ripples around the sphere, particles are spawned on the surface of the sphere, with custom facing and alignment to ensure they are oriented properly as they follow the sphere’s normal.
Conclusion:
The final result is a dynamic, glowing energy ball with moving sparks, lightning, and ripples, all synchronized to give the illusion of energy. You also provide a downloadable file for viewers to use, and a link to a reference effect for better understanding.
