Video Title: Creating an Egg Burst Effect in Unreal Engine Niagara
Description: In this tutorial, I’ll walk you through the process of creating an egg burst effect using Unreal Engine Niagara. The effect includes bursting eggs, poison splatter, egg yolk, and decals with dynamic properties. I’ll break down how to achieve these unique visual effects step by step, from particles to materials.
Key Points:
- Egg Bursting Effect: I created an effect where eggs burst randomly, triggering various particles like bubbles, chunks, and poison splatter. Each particle type is uniquely controlled using different emitters.
- Bubbles: Simple sphere meshes with scaling particles, no velocity, and a green color for the bubbles.
- Chunks: Large egg chunks are simulated using mesh emitters with cone velocity, gravity, and collision with the ground.
- Small Chunks: Smaller chunks are added, sharing similar properties to the larger chunks but with a different spawn rate and size.
- Eggs Scaling & Dying: The eggs are set to scale and squish, with a short lifespan for a quick, dynamic effect.
- Poison Effect: The poison splatter on the ground uses planar mesh rendering, with particles that scale up and erode. The dynamic parameter in the material controls the eroding texture.
- Splash Effects: Three types of splash effects are created using mesh and sprite-based particles, some with vertex animation textures from Houdini. The textures and materials were exported from Houdini and adapted in Unreal Engine.
- Yolk Effect: For the egg yolk, a material was applied that causes the mesh to scale and erode over time. The material uses noise textures and normal maps to simulate the effect.
- Decals: I applied decals on the ground and characters, which change in size and opacity over time, matching the egg burst effect. The decals have a detailed material with parameters for texture, normal map, tiling, and rotation.
- Decal Animation: The decal is animated to scale up and down over time, adding realism to the burst effect.

Additional Notes:
- This effect can be used for games or animations that require a dynamic, organic visual like explosions, magic spells, or environmental interactions.
- The textures and materials used for the splash and yolk effects can be adapted for other types of particle systems as well.
- You can download my 20 Blood Effect Package from the marketplace, which includes similar materials and textures used in this tutorial for creating blood simulations and related effects.
