Video Title: Fluid Scattering Effect in UE5 | Complete Tutorial

Description: Hi guys, I’m Asif Ali and you’re watching CGHOW. In today’s tutorial, I’m going to show you how to create this fluid scattering effect in Unreal Engine 5. This fluid will scatter on a character from top to bottom, and then from bottom to top. It’s a cool effect that adds dynamic movement to your character. I’ll walk you through the entire process from scratch.

Steps to Create the Effect:

  1. Setting Up the Character:
    • Drag your character into the scene.
    • Position it under the zero F ops.
  2. Creating the Fluid System:
    • Create a new Niagara system and enable the necessary plugin.
    • Choose the new system from template and select the Fluid template.
    • Open the particle system to preview the default particles.
  3. Emitter and Static Mesh Setup:
    • In the Niagara emitter, replace the emitter location with the static mesh location of your character.
    • Adjust the size and position of the fluid container to match the size of your character.
  4. Animating Fluid Scattering:
    • Use the Region Mask to define where particles should spawn.
    • You can use different shapes (Box, Sphere, etc.) to control the area of emission.
    • Offset the mask from top to bottom and animate it over time.
    • Set the particles to emit only the green ones (active) and kill the red particles (inactive).
  5. Adding Turbulence:
    • To make the fluid look more natural, add turbulence to the fluid simulation. Increase the turbulence strength for more chaotic movement.
    • You can tweak the settings to get the desired fluid behavior.
  6. Lighting the Effect:
    • Since GPU particles can’t directly emit light, create a new CPU particle emitter and add a light source.
    • Adjust the spawn rate and intensity of the light to illuminate the fluid effect.

Final Touches:

  • Rendering Settings: Adjust the rendering parameters to make the fluid brighter or more realistic.
  • Particle Speed: Control the speed of the particles to get the right flow and movement.

Once done, your fluid scattering effect should be complete and ready to go.

Additional Notes:

  • I’ll be uploading the files for this effect on my Patreon. You can download and try it out for yourself!
